Funeral prices are broken down into three categories, each of which goes into calculating the overall cost of a funeral. At the conclusion of your arrangement conference with the funeral director, you will be provided with a "Statement of Funeral Goods & Services Selected" which outlines each selection your family has made to arrive at the overall cost of the funeral or memorial.
To better help families understand these categories before you come into the funeral home to make arrangements, we've provided explanations below:
When exploring funeral costs, please remember that the accurate cost of your family's wishes is arrived at when the total of all three categories above are combined.
Professional Services + Merchandise + Cash Advances = Total Price of Funeral
When comparing pricing between funeral homes or cremation providers, we encourage you to look at the whole picture and not just the lowest advertised price.
We are always available to discuss pricing with you and help your family arrive at a realistic estimate of the costs involved for any funeral, memorial, cremation or burial that your family may wish to arrange.

All other cremation providers who serve Kittitas County utilize crematory facilities located one (or more) counties away.
What is an Alternative Container?
While not technically a "casket", an alternative container serves a similar purpose for cremation by serving as the vessel that your loved one is placed into for the cremation and is cremated with them. We offer a variety of alternative containers for your family to select but please know that ultimately they all functionally do the same thing. We don't believe it is our place to make assumptions as to what your family may or may not want when planning a cremation for your loved one which is why we offer a variety of alternative containers to select from as shown below.
Each alternative container listed below is also noted for its suitability for different types of services. It is the policy of our firm to only direct off-site services where the is body present using an appropriate container that allows for safe and respectful transport of the deceased.

What is an Urn Vault? An urn vault serves a similar purpose to that of an outer burial container used for casketed burial - that is to maintain the integrity of the cemetery grounds by creating an outer enclosure around the urn. While not required by any law, some cemeteries require an outer enclosure for in-ground urn placement.
Some cemeteries sell their own urn liners and provide their own graveside setups. Other cemeteries are not equipped to do so and defer the responsibility of selling the outer enclosure and setup of the graveside to the funeral home.
The prices shown are for the liner or vault only and are subject to applicable Washington State sales tax. A delivery and setup fee from the vault company may also apply based on your cemetery of choice. We will guide you during the arrangements as to the final cost of an urn vault.

What is an Outer Burial Container? The Outer Burial Container, which can either be a grave liner or vault, is designed to maintain the integrity of the cemetery grounds by creating an outer enclosure around the casket. While not required by any law, almost all cemeteries require them as a condition of burial on their grounds.
Some cemeteries sell their own grave liners and provide their own graveside setup as part of their charges. Other cemeteries are not equipped to do so and defer the responsibility of selling the outer enclosure and setup of the graveside to the funeral home.
We have partnered with Wilbert, the leading national supplier of burial vaults, to offer quality products and graveside setups to the families we serve. The vaults available for your family to select are included below and many come with unique personalization options to make the graveside service memorable and special.
The prices shown are for the liner or vault only and are subject to applicable Washington State sales tax.
There is an additional charge for delivery and setup of any outer burial container selected, which is assessed by Wilbert based on cemetery location - Ellensburg $426; Cle Elum $498; Roslyn $515 - and will be added to your final statement as a cash advance item. In addition to the delivery and setup charges referenced, the vault company also assesses a charge of $400 for burials held on a Saturday or $600 for burials held on a Sunday.
SPECIFIC INFORMATION FOR LOCAL CEMETERIES

Laurel Hill Memorial Park (Cle Elum) - Laurel Hill has rigid plastic grave liners available to purchase directly through the City of Cle Elum. If you wish to use a concrete liner or a burial vault, it must be purchased through the funeral home.

Natural Organic Reduction utilizes the body’s own naturally occurring microbes to gently transform remains into nutrient-rich soil. The process is conducted in individual pods and takes about 60 days to complete. The resulting soil (approximately one cubic yard) can then be returned to your family to be planted in gardens or donated to a green belt property in Kent, Washington to aid in the restoration and rejuvenation of a Washington forest.
Our price for Natural Organic Reduction includes basic services of the funeral director and staff, transfer of remains to the funeral home, up to five days refrigeration, basic sanitary care (no embalming, NOR will not work when a body has been embalmed) and one hour optional private family viewing during weekday business hours, transfer of remains to the Natural Organic Reduction facility in Auburn, Washington and the fees for the actual Natural Organic Reduction process.
Add $500 to price shown above for witnessed placement into the NOR vessel (also known as a "laying in" ceremony) at the Return Home facility in Auburn.
Alkaline hydrolysis, also known as "flameless" or "water based" cremation, is a process for the disposal of human remains using lye and heat.
The charge for Alkaline Hydrolysis may be substituted for traditional flame based cremation with any of our cremation packages, including direct cremation. Embalming does not impact the process and can still be selected when alkaline hydrolysis is selected as the final method of disposition.
This additional charge includes transportation to the nearest alkaline hydrolysis facility with availability (presently located in either Kent, Washington or Coeur d' Alene, Idaho), the alkaline hydrolysis process itself and return of the processed remains via US Mail from the facility to our funeral home.
This charge includes a reduced charge and scope of the basic services of funeral director and staff, transfer of remains to the funeral home within our defined service area (50 miles, one-way), embalming and service vehicle to SeaTac International Airport. It does not include a casket or alternative shipping container, the use of facilities and staff for any visitation, rites or ceremonies (public or private) prior to forwarding the remains, nor the cost of transportation by common carrier or those of the receiving funeral home. Additional itemized selections from the General Price List (such as viewing or ceremony) may not be added to this charge. If services are to be held locally before shipment, itemized/package pricing will apply.
To lose someone you love is a devastating human experience. It is frequently traumatic and can seriously impact judgement and often comes at a time when survivors are least prepared financially. We believe in the importance of the recognition and meaningful celebration of a life that has been lived and will assist in an appropriate service to meet your individual needs. It is also important to be realistic in respect to funeral expenses, keeping within your family’s budget while still honoring your wishes. In order to be fair to all parties, discussion and agreement with regards to payment terms are handled at the time of arrangement.
We accept many forms of payment including cash and check (which do not incur a processing fee) as well as credit cards (2.9% fee added of total amount to be charged) and life insurance assignments (fee varies, based on amount to be assigned)
We have never turned away a family based on their ability to pay and solicit your frankness regarding financial matters. We pledge to work with you, if necessary, to arrive at terms that are fair and amicable to all involved.
