William "Bill" Pattee Obituary

William S. “Bill” Pattee, 79, lifetime Kittitas Valley resident, passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.  At his request, no formal services will be held.

Bill was born in Ellensburg, Washington on November 19, 1943 to Leonard & Myrtle (Sisk) Pattee and was proud of being a descendant of two Kittitas Valley pioneer families.  He grew up in Ellensburg and attended the local schools before serving in the United States Army from 1967-1969.

Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Bill returned to Ellensburg and worked a few different jobs before being hired on at Twin City Foods where he worked for over 20 years as a forklift operator, helping with equipment upgrades and many other odd-jobs around the plant.

Bill met Vivian Lafever at a social function in Kittitas and they married on July 18, 1986.  Vivian had three sons - Marcus, Steven and James - and Bill became “dad” to all three boys, raising them as his own.

Bill loved having anything to do with the outdoors including four-wheeling, fishing, Jeeping, camping and photography.  He will be remembered by his family as a good, down-to-earth, honest and hard-working man who was generous to all who needed a helping hand.

Bill is survived by his wife, Vivian, his sons James and Steven; grandchildren Dannielle, Amber, Makayla, Josh, Mitchelle and Ashley; his great-grandson Eli as well as many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his son Marcus, parents and five siblings.

Memorial contributions in Bill’s honor are suggested to KVH Hospice, 1506 Radio Road, Ellensburg, WA 98926. Arrangements have been entrusted to Johnston & Williams Funeral Home of Ellensburg.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.johnston-williams.com
