Thelma Dosier Obituary

Thelma J. Dosier died November 24, 2022 at the KVH Hospital in Ellensburg after a brief illness. A memorial is planned for Kailua Hawaii on January 7, 2023 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Thelma was born in Los Angeles in 1938 to Earl F. and Nina S. (Gregory) Cisco.  They were the “Dust Bowl Okies” of the Steinbeck novels, living in poverty until WWII, when her father organized trucking loads and bought early Peterbilt semis to move freight over the west coast.

The family moved to Washington in the early 1950s, her parents started a trucking service “Coast Truck Brokerage”, shipping cedar shakes to California and fruit to Seattle.   A Graduate of Garfield High 1956, Thelma became an X-Ray Technician at Providence Hospital, Seattle.

In 1957 she met a Navy man, Timothy Dosier and they married in June 1958.  Three children followed Kimberly (Philip Widner),  Selene (Roy Yeda) and Tad (Beverly Chong).

In the late 1960s, Thelma began study with Jehovah’s Witnesses, baptized in the ocean in Honolulu Hawaii, early 1970. She was never missing from meetings and ministry, until her death. In 22 years of living in Cle Elum, she was often seen at Warriors Quick Stop with the JW.org literature cart. She would want you to watch the video “The Condition of the Dead” at JW.org, or Job 14:1-7, especially verse 15 “You will call, and I will answer you. You will long for the work of your hands.”

Thelma lived on Iron Mountain Ranch, owned by the family for over 30 years. She loved it very much and gave it the name, based on the old name for Peoh Point found in the Centennial books on Kittitas County 1889-1989.  The family also ran a worldwide tech business, TADCO, started by Thelma and Tim, in 1977 and sold in 2021.

She loved her Corvette and she was driving it regularly until COVID. She competed in a number of open road rallies in Nevada, including a three-generation finish, first time achieved and not yet repeated.

In addition to her children, Thelma is also survived by her grandchildren Patrick (Jennifer) Widner, Alina (Morgan Lunstrum) Yeda, Tabalyn, Tanner and Tassyanna  Dosier as well as her great-grandchildren Annykah and Alekzandra Widner, all of whom regularly visited and traveled with her, the oldest great granddaughter gifting her with the title “Tiger Grandma”, which truly suited her and will always be in our hearts.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Johnston & Williams Funeral Home and Crematory of Cle Elum. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.johnston-williams.com
