Bobby was born in Roslyn in 1955 and lived in Roslyn all his life. Early on he discovered a passion for horses and the high mountain lakes and spent many hours in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Waptus and Diamond Lake were two of his favorites. He was an expert packer and would pack extra beer and steaks to share with hikers. Out of high school Bob worked for Amtrak for one year on the train to Chicago as a porter. He had his own grader, dozer and backhoe and did snow plowing and road building . He also worked for the City of Roslyn as Street Superintendent for 20 years, and was a Roslyn City Policeman until Roslyn joined with the Cle Elum Police Department. He worked security for Northern Exposure and was Janine Turner's personal security for several seasons. Bob was also a Roslyn volunteer fireman for 20 years. Bobby was super outgoing and had hundreds of friends. His great niece named him "Bobby Too Loud".
