Nancy Anne (Norling) Lovejoy

On May 12, 2022, we said goodbye to Nancy Anne Lovejoy, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend.  A memorial service to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Johnston & Williams Funeral Home in Ellensburg.

Nancy was born on July 16, 1935 in Ellensburg to George & Mildred Norling, joining her older siblings Jack Norling, Donald Norling and Dorothy Bailes.  She grew up in Ellensburg and graduated from Ellensburg High School in 1953.

Nancy married Richard Smith (Hess) in December 1953 and they were blessed with three daughters - Ramona, Kathy and Linda.  They moved to Auburn, Washington in 1966 where Nancy began a 35 year career with the Auburn School District. 

Nancy married Wayne Lovejoy in 1980 and welcomed three step-children into her life - Dwayne, Lori, and Nancy. She and Wayne enjoyed bowling, traveling and attending the many functions of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  After Wayne passed away in 2016, Nancy returned to Ellensburg where resided until her passing.

Nancy lived a long and happy life and will be greatly missed by so many people who loved her.

Nancy is survived by her daughters Ramona (Larry) Fritz, Kathy (Bud Jensen) Kastning and Linda (Mike) Maw; step-children Dwayne (Judy) Lovejoy, Lori (Greg) Clarke and Nancy Ellis, as well as 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
