Marjorie Jean (Andress) Huss

September 28, 1929 — January 7, 2024

Ellensburg, Washington

Marjorie Jean Huss, 94, longtime Kittitas Valley resident, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at the Prestige Care & Rehab Center in Ellensburg.  Viewing for family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Johnston & Williams in Ellensburg. No other formal services are planned.

Marge was born on September 28, 1929 in Grandview, Washington to Fred & Lila (Corrin) Andress. She spent her early years in Grandview before the family moved to Kittitas when Marge was three years old. She grew up in Kittitas and graduated high school there in 1947. She married Donald Huss on May 1, 1948 and the couple made their home in Ellensburg.  She and Don were blessed with three children and during their school years, Marge was very dedicated to supporting them in their various sports and activities.

Marge worked most of her career as the bookkeeper at Brad & Burke in Ellensburg, retiring in the mid 1990’s.  Following retirement, she and Don built a cabin on Lake Cle Elum where many family memories were made.  They also had the opportunity to do some traveling before health concerns brought them back to Ellensburg in 2001.

Marge was a very avid bowler and participated in league bowling at the local, regional, state and national level, including a trip to the national competition in Reno.  Even as she aged and lost her vision, she still bowled a good game and maintained a high average.

Marge is survived by her daughters Sharon Millett and Sandra (Gene) Ketzenberg; son Michael (Katie) Huss; sister Judy Breeden; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; brother Gilbert “Gib” Andress; son-in-law Dean Millett; and grandson Bradley King.

Memorial contributions in Marge’s honor are suggested to any local charity of your choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Johnston & Williams of Ellensburg. Online condolences may be left at www.johnston-williams.com
