Linda Marie Grebb

Linda Marie Grebb passed away on May 15, 2022, after a long and arduous struggle with chronic, progressive multiple sclerosis.  She was born to Raymond and Doris (Kolstad) Johnson, in Bremerton, Washington on September 23, 1947.  Linda grew up in the Poulsbo area spending summers biking and swimming, as well as visiting her grandmother, aunts and cousins in Ellensburg.  She graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1965. Linda attended Olympic College, and then relocated to Seattle, working in banking administration.    

It was on one of those trips to Ellensburg while visiting her cousin that Linda met Jerry Grebb on a Labor Day weekend.  Their first date included sneaking into the Ellensburg Rodeo during an otherwise sold-out performance.   Jerry and Linda were later married on March 17, 1973, and their daughter, Julie, was born in 1977.  Linda was very involved with Julie’s upbringing and education.  

It was in 1989 that Linda was first diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. From its onset, she handled its progressively disabling grip with grace. 

Linda enjoyed singing, playing guitar and bowling.  She bowled on a league while she was able.  Linda was a member of First Lutheran Church.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Jerry, daughter Julie (Rusty) Figgins and grandson Will Figgins.  Also surviving are sisters Carol Pearson and Karen Johnson, brother Terry (Keri) Johnson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Ray Johnson.

The family wishes to especially thank Mardie Jo Jendrycka for her dedication and excellent level of care provided to Linda and her family these past eleven years.  Special thanks are also given to Kathy Marshall for her caregiving and assistance.

Please join the family for a Celebration of Life in Linda’s honor, to be held at First Lutheran Church on Saturday, June 4 at 3:00 pm.
