Jordan Hanson Obituary

Jordan Hanson, 24, of Ellensburg, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle due to injuries and complications from a car accident in late July.

Jordan was born on December 21, 1995 in Monroe, Washington to Joel Hanson and Jessica “Star” Burns.  He was raised in the Ellensburg-Kittitas communities, attending elementary and middle school at Kittitas and high school at Ellensburg and Thorp. He was very athletic, playing football for EHS.  Jordan was a hard worker and always had odd jobs while he was growing up.  He began working for Tarp-It in 2016, a job he very much enjoyed.

In 2016, Jordan met Ashley Hone and on January 19, 2018 they were blessed with a son, Ajay Allan Hanson.  Ajay passed away unexpectedly from SIDS on August 7, 2018.  Following Ajay’s death, Jordan and Ashley moved to Willows, California and were blessed with their daughter, Jaya, on September 2, 2019.  Jordan loved being a dad and was so thankful for the time he spent with both of his children.

Jordan was also very musically gifted – playing guitar and composed the music and lyrics to many songs.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Jordan is survived by his fiancé, Ashley Hone and his daughter Jaya; father Joel (Sybil) Hanson; mother Star Pitts; sister Madison Storey; grandparents Denise Hanson and Patrica Garoute.  He is also survived by his “siblings-by-choice” - Zack, Codey and Annalee Koback as well as his “other mom”, Kathi Koback.  He is also survived by lots of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Memorial contributions in Jordan’s honor are suggested to LifeNet Health (www.lifenethealth.org).  LifeNet helps save the lives of others through the gift of organ and tissue donation and, following Ajay’s death, were able to use his heart valves to save the life of another infant.
