Ella Scott

July 13, 1948 — March 10, 2024

Cle Elum, Washington

Ella Scott, 75, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 10, 2024.  Ella was a life-long resident of Cle Elum, born on July 13, 1948, the 8th child welcomed by George and Susie Scott.

She lived a humble, simple life. Her physical challenges were a minor interruption to the absolute joy and fervor she had for life. Her ‘village’ was truly there for her to ensure she lived a colorful and expansive life. Ella defied the odds and those who knew and loved her never doubted her capabilities. She NEVER was discouraged. She always had her eye on tomorrow and the possibilities for both herself and every family member she cheered for.

Many “Ella” stories bring smiles:  learning to drive, bowling, helping families as they started their various business ventures, treasuring her beautiful knitted and crocheted creations. Ella loved a fun trip whether to bingo, Reno, Las Vegas or just a quick trip to visit family.  A major trip to Saskatchewan Canda to celebrate the 50th anniversary of a beloved sister was a highlight of adventure.

Ella was that special Aunt that everyone deserves in their lives. Ella’s home was warm and welcoming. Each and every one of her nephews and nieces loved her and are all fiercely protective of their memories. Ella was a beloved and loyal sister to Letticia, George, Walt, Dale, Karen, Carol, Terry and Becky.  Her siblings lived throughout Washington and into Canada and down to Texas.  She never missed an opportunity to celebrate life.

Ella loved her small circle of friends who were there for her, as she was for them, in the highs and lows of life.  Judy Wood, Carol Haynal, and Karen Krahenbuhl were the center of her world and she deeply loved their daily antics, whether watching “soaps” with a cup of tea or sneaking out for a quick bite at a local restaurant. They met daily life as true friends do.

Ella is survived by her sisters Karen (Richard) Rowe, Carol (Tom Wait) Gould, and Becky (Ron) Montgomery as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. For each of her siblings and her nieces and nephews, if you knew them, you knew Ella. She was and will be part of the story and will be missed beyond measure.

Services were held Tuesday, March 19 at the Cle Elum Community Church and Ella was laid to rest with her mother at Laurel Hill Memorial Park.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Johnston & Williams of Cle Elum. Online condolences may be left at www.johnston-williams.com
