Mr. Staloch, a longtime resident of Ellensburg, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Meadows Place Assisted Living.
Clem was born on July 16, 1921 in Wells, Minnesota. Some of his fondest memories and stories were from his time growing up on the family farm. As a young man, he joined the service and was an air traffic controller during WWII. He was stationed in Ellensburg where he met his wife Chrystal (Smith) Staloch and they went on to have five children - Clement, Fredrick, Patrick, Cathlyn and Christopher.
Clem spent the remainder of his life in Ellensburg, working at Shaw’s as their appliance repairman and has been a member of the IBEW for over 75 years. Clem was an active member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. He loved gardening, reading, and could fix anything! He celebrated his 100th birthday last summer and continued to live independently at home until just a few weeks ago when he moved to Meadows Place.
Clem is survived by sisters Rita Townsend & Yvonne Kortum; daughter Cathy Staloch; sons, Fred Staloch, Pat (Cindy) Staloch and Chris Staloch; grandchildren Travis & Jared Staloch, Donna (Shane) Dedrick, Cara (Kyle) Thayer and Dana (Greg) Ogan as well as his great-grandchildren Joseph & Matthew Dedrick, Keely & Briggs Thayer, and Michael & Andy Ogan. He was preceded in death by his son Clem; his wife Chrystal and his grandson Chris Storlie.
