Bill Allan Obituary

Ernest William “Bill” Allan, 87, longtime Ellensburg resident, passed away at his home on Thursday, March 30, 2022.  Bill will be honored by his family in a private event at the family home at a later date.

Bill was born on June 26, 1934 in Seattle, Washington to William & Blanche (Fruhling) Allan.  He grew up in the Seattle area and graduated from high school there.  He worked a brief time for Boeing before enlisting in the United States Air Force, serving from April 1953 through April 1957.  He considered his time in the military one of the greatest experiences of his life. Following his discharge, Bill began working again for Boeing, working his way up to engineer.  He retired from Boeing after 40 years of service.

Bill met Peggy Johnston through mutual friends at a party and they were married on July 19, 1963. They were blessed with two children - daughter Bonnie and son Christopher.

Following his retirement, Bill and Peggy moved to Ellensburg in 1994 where he spent many hours tinkering on old cars and tractors, elk hunting, jeeping and camping.

Bill is survived by his wife, Peggy, at the family home in Ellensburg; daughter Bonnie (Mike) Meyer of Benton City; daughter-in-law Kristine Allan of Ellensburg as well as his grandchildren Hannah, Krisjan, Jacob, Nina and Daniel as well as seven great-grandchildren.
