Betty Jovanovich Obituary

Betty Ann Jovanovich, 88, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the Malibu House in South Cle Elum.  At Betty’s request, she will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at the Roslyn Cemetery.

Betty was born on November 27, 1932 in Roslyn, Washington to Milan & Anna Marie (Chopp) Pavlich.  When she was two, Betty’s family moved to Renton but the family home still stands to this day in Roslyn.  She grew up in Renton and graduated from Renton High School in 1950.  While primarily a first-class wife, mother and homemaker, Betty also worked part time at Boeing, Sears and at the Renton School District as a teacher’s aide.

Betty married Tony Jovanovich and they made their home in Renton, and recently celebrated 54 years of marriage.  Betty was a lifetime member of the Seattle Croatian Fraternal Union #439 where she and Tony helped as part of the kitchen crew at the Seattle CFU 439 picnics for many years and was a member of the Kolo Group.  She also enjoyed attending the Croatian picnics in Roslyn as well.

Betty loved dancing and she and Tony were members of the Renton North Dakota Dance Club and the Eagles Lodge.  In their retirement, they enjoyed traveling and spending many happy times with friends and family at their second home by Lake Cle Elum.

Betty is survived by her husband, Tony; children Michael (Nancy) Foley, Theresa (Phil) Ozbolt, Lisa (Nathan) Weis and Rod (Aleithea) Jovanovich; grandchildren Lindsey Ozbolt, Spencer Ozbolt, Sean Foley, Michelle (Brady) VanHoof, Lydia Weis and Dylan Weis as well as great-grandchildren Aiden Foley, Killian Foley and Bodhi VanHoof.

Memorial contributions in Betty’s honor are suggested to the Roslyn-Ronald-Cle Elum Heritage Club, PO Box 916, Cle Elum, Washington 98922.  Johnston & Williams Funeral Home and Crematory of Cle Elum has been entrusted with caring for Betty’s family.  Online condolences may be left at www.johnston-williams.com
