William G. Stentz

William G. “Bill” Stentz, 80, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, September 3, 2026.

Bill was born on June 2, 1946 in Kirkland, Washington to George and Florence Stentz. He spent much of his working life behind the wheel, enjoying a long career as a concrete mixer and dump truck driver. He eventually retired early and took over as the “lead guy” on the home front, a position that suited him well.

More than anything, Bill loved his family. They were his greatest joy and there wasn’t much he wouldn’t do for the people he loved. He was their biggest supporter, a shoulder to lean on when times were difficult and, when the situation called for it, a total goofball. He was funny, smart, stubborn, occasionally irritating and fiercely loyal to those fortunate enough to be part of his world.

Bill also loved animals of all kinds. Many happy hours were spent driving the backroads looking for deer, elk, turkeys and whatever other wildlife happened to make an appearance along the way. And then there was Christmas. Bill loved Christmas and was perfectly content watching Christmas movies twelve months a year. His family often joked that if you stood still long enough, he would probably hang Christmas lights on you. For Bill, there really wasn’t such a thing as too much Christmas or putting the decorations up too early.

Bill is survived by his wife, Linda; mother-in-law, Bonnie; children Sherri, Wendy, Billie Jo and Jason (Stacy); grandchildren Christopher, Karon, Terron, Marcus, Kelsey, Marcella, Mandy, Ivan, Oliver and Lukas; siblings Cathy, Doreen and Melvin (Karen); as well as a multitude of in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Florence; sisters Linda, Nancy, Diane and Colleen; and his niece, Ellen.

For Linda, Bill was not only her husband, but her partner, her biggest rooting section, her shoulder to cry on and the love of her life. While his absence leaves an immeasurable void, the love, laughter and memories they shared will remain forever.

Memorial contributions in Bill’s honor are suggested to the donor’s local food bank or animal shelter.
