Sandra (Sandy) L. Martindale, age 80, went home to be with the Lord on February 10th, 2026, after a battle with progressive heart failure.
Sandra was born on August 24, 1945 in Bremerton, Washington; she was the daughter of the late Marcel and Harriet Maloney. Sandy grew up moving and going to school back and forth between Bremerton, WA; San Diego, CA; and Cherry Point, NC while her father served in the Marine Corps. Her family settled in East Wenatchee where Sandy had her three children.
Sandy was never afraid to work hard, and had many interesting jobs in Washington and Oregon throughout her working years. She loved being with family first-and-foremost. Her cup was filled by being able to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She had a wonderful child-like spirit and she was often found down on the floor, or on her hands and knees playing and being silly with the grandchildren, and even later in her older age, with her great grandchildren. Sandy refused to let aging slow her down and really desired to live life to its fullest.
Sandra also enjoyed being outdoors, whether that be camping, boating with family, working in her yard, or taking walks out her backdoor with her grandchildren/great grandchildren and pets. She loved doing crafts with her lady friends, and in the last few years she even took up acrylic painting. She loved getting the chance to play games with others, whether that be family or hosting a game night with the ladies. She loved playing games even more so if she won. :)
Sandra was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her three children: her daughter Marchel Allenbaugh (Dave), and sons, Hank Avena (Nimfa), and Mark Avena (Tanya). She was also blessed with seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren: Matthew Allenbaugh (Michaela) and their two children, Marshall Allenbaugh, the late Hank Avena Jr., Maria Avena, Taryn Beaugrand (Brett) and their four children, Sayer Avena (Lisa) and their two children, and Jadyn Avena and her son.
She is also survived by her brother, Bill Maloney and his daughter Kimberly McNeill (Butch) and their two children; sister, Maurya Broadsword (Mike), and brother Dennis Maloney (Timi) and their three children: Reese Maloney (Kelsey) with their three children, Madeleine Grover (Chet), and Malachi Maloney (Alana) and their son.
Memorial services for Sandy will be held on May 16th, 2026 at 2:30 at 810 Goat Peak Ranch Rd. Cle Elum.
