Mario B. Todd

Mario Brendgen Todd was born on June 24, 1952, to Hans Joseph Brendgen and Katharina Jakobine Douven in Mönchengladbach, Germany.

Mario moved to the United States and graduated from Ellensburg High School in 1970. He enlisted in the United States Army where he met and married the love of his life Mal Yon Todd in 1972 where they would begin a journey together that lasted for nearly 53 years of marriage. During his 21-year military career, Mario’s station assignments took him to places such as Kansas, Georgia, Texas, North Carolina, Germany, and Korea. Mario retired from the military and dedicated another 20 years to public service with the State of Washington.

Mario was an avid Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Mariners fan. He loved old movies, classical music and a hot cup of coffee. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.

Mario is survived by his wife, Mal; his sister Simone Poncar; his brothers Frank (Shirley) and Michael; and two sons, Michael (Lydia) of Colorado Springs and Marcus (Patricia) of Ellensburg; as well as eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, adopted father Timothy Todd, and son Marshall.
