Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening, June 19, also at St. John's. Viewing for family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18 and Thursday, June 19 at Johnston & Williams Funeral Home in Ellensburg. Mrs. Fudacz passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at the KVH Hospital in Ellensburg at the age of 100.
Lena was born on January 11, 1925 in the family home at Lauderdale, the youngest of four daughters born to John & Agnes (Bettas) Dana. When she was three years old, the family moved “into town” to a house on Garden Street in Cle Elum where she would grow up and attend school in Cle Elum, graduating from Cle Elum High School in 1943.
In her youth, Lena got to know Theodore “Maugh” Fudacz who lived just up the street. After some coy flirting back and forth, they eventually began dating and were married on May 6, 1944. They established their home across Garden Street from where Lena grew up and she was still living independently in that home until the very end.
Lena was a homemaker until her children were grown and then began working for the Sears Catalog Store in Cle Elum in 1973. She enjoyed interacting with all of her customers and held that job until retirement. In retirement, Lena found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid sports fan - she loved the Seahawks, Mariners and was a season ticket holder with the University of Washington. Her trips to Reno and her love of scratch tickets are also a fun and favorite memory.
Lena was a faithful member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cle Elum, serving many years with the Altar Society and a longtime member of both the Cle Elum Eagles Auxiliary #649 and the Polish National Alliance #685.
Lena is survived by her children Gary (JoAnne) Fudacz, Larry Fudacz, Jan Cramer and David (Lyla) Fudacz; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Maugh; her parents; and sisters Annette, Jennie and Dora.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Rob Merkel and the staff of Cle Elum Family Medicine as well as to Dr. Mark Larson and the staff of the KVH Hospital for their special care and attention to our mom.
Memorial contributions in Lena’s honor are suggested to the KVH Foundation, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church’s Altar Society or to a charity of your choice.
