Mass of Christian Burial for Kenneth Ervin Jensen will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Ellensburg with a reception to follow in the Parish Hall. Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12 at Johnston & Williams in Ellensburg. Mr. Jensen, 84, a longtime Kittitas Valley resident, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025 surrounded by the family he loved so deeply.
Kenny was born on August 27, 1941 in Prosser, Washington, the third of eight children born to Ervin C. & Marie (Buechler) Jensen. The family moved to the valley when Kenny was young and he grew up in the Badger Pocket area. Having been raised in the Catholic faith, Kenny attended Lourde’s Academy and later Ellensburg High School where he was part of the Class of 1960. He spent the better part of his working career as a log truck driver and, although he had many different trucks over the years, his Kenworths were his favorite.
In 1963, Kenny married the love of his life, Gail Heavilin, and together they built a home grounded in hard work, loyalty and devotion to their family. He was a proud father who taught his boys the importance of a strong work ethic, honesty and taking care of those you love. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life including camping, tinkering in his shop, and lively conversations about politics with anyone willing to join in.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Gail; sons Greg (Leslie) and Scott (Shaan); grandchildren Adrienne, Kennen and Lauren; siblings Vi Unger, Ray Jensen, Norm Jensen, Alrey Sayler, Donna Nugent, Dennis Jensen and Mary Graaff; as well as Sophie, his constant companion. He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant son, Michael Todd Jensen.
Memorial contributions in Kenny’s honor are suggested to any local charity that directly benefits the citizens of the Kittitas Valley.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Johnston & Williams of Ellensburg. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.johnston-williams.com
