Kathleen E. Michael

July 12, 1964 — August 22, 2025

Roslyn, Washington

Kathleen Elizabeth Michael passed away at her home in Roslyn on August 22, 2025. She was 61 years young. Her family will host a celebration of life starting at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the Roslyn Eagles.

Kathleen was born in Enumclaw to Fred and Marjorie “Pudgie” Markovich. Kathleen raised her sons and was very active in her hometown before following her father’s family roots to Roslyn, where she would meet and marry the love of her life. Kathleen was deeply engaged in the community, hosting Duckfest, acting as the “First Lady of Roslyn” for many years, coordinating scholarships/fundraisers, and creating her own small business, “From Roslyn with Love”.

Kathleen lived every moment of her life unafraid to stand up for what she believed in. She came from and surrounded herself with strong women and open-minded people who fought against injustices. Kathleen was sunshine, she was magic, you couldn’t help but feel happy around her big smile and hearty laugh. She was a proud grandmother and loved spending time with her family, whether it be creating art, playing music, cooking, or just being together. She had a wonderful green thumb and could often be found in her garden with her dogs.

Kathleen will be remembered for her creativity, her humor, her fun spirit, her kindness and her love for “Squatches”. She touched countless lives, and we are better for having known and loved her.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her dear Grandma Rose; parents Alfred and Marjorie "Pudgie" Markovich; and sisters Colleen Ellen Hudson, Khristine Meri, Donna Jean and Dorothy Eve.

She is survived by her husband Brent Hals; sons Trevor Michael and Bryson Michael; grandchildren James, Atlas, and Christopher; her best friend of 53 years Julie Freier (Tate); sister Rosalie Babic (Greg); brothers Richard Babic (Peggy) and Joseph Babic; stepson Cedar Hals; mother-in-law Genie Warner Hals; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who became her family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Johnston & Williams of Cle Elum. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.johnston-williams.com
