John Michael Uhrich, 58, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 23, 2025, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. His graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.

John was born on January 8, 1967, in Corvallis, Oregon and grew up in Kent, Washington where he graduated high school. He attended Central Washington University in Ellensburg, earning his bachelor’s degree and serving in the Air Force ROTC Program.

Following his graduation from Central, John served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1998 at the rank of Captain. Following his discharge, he returned to Kent and began working for Boeing, a career that would span 27 years. During that time he also earned two master’s degrees from the University of Washington.

In 2016, John met Kim Lawrence and they spent the next 9 years as each other's companions and best friends. They took many trips to Scottsdale, Arizona, and Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho as well as a luxurious trip to Mexico. John was also an excellent cook and made the best pizza!

John is survived by his fiancé, Kim Lawrence of Ellensburg; his parents Jim & Cindy Uhrich of Manson; his brother Terry (Noelle) Uhrich of California and his beloved dachshund, Jasmine.

Memorial contributions in John’s honor are suggested to Hearts4Doxies Rescue.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Johnston & Williams of Ellensburg.

The cortege will depart from the staging area to the committal shelter just ahead or exactly at 3:00 p.m. Please plan travel accordingly to arrive at Tahoma National Cemetery between 2:30 and 2:50 p.m. to ensure you can attend the service.
