John Nelson Conshafter, 79, of Wenatchee, Washington, passed away on December 24, 2025. He was born on June 12, 1946, in Santa Monica, California to John Nicholas Jr. and Jean Ruth (Willard).
John is survived by his loving wife of over 30 years, Diana; his daughters Jana Craft (Richard) and Jackie Johnston; his stepsons Scott Davidson and Alex Davidson (Julie); nephews Greg Vitalich and Michael Vitalich (Zulma); eight grandchildren and two grandnieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barbara Vitalich.
Originally from the Los Angeles area, John graduated from Narbonne High School in 1964. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Navy Cryptologic Technician from 1966 to 1972, a role he fulfilled with honor and dedication. A lifelong learner, John earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1974 and later completed an MBA from Jones International University in 2006. He further distinguished himself by becoming a Certified Internal Auditor and a Certified Fraud Examiner. Over the course of his career, John worked as an Internal Auditor for organizations in the ethanol, education, and food industries throughout California. In retirement, he found great joy in teaching accounting online and running his own consulting business, continuing to share his expertise and passion for helping others succeed.
Outside of his professional life, John loved landscaping his yard—always insisting on his yard including a fountain (or two). He had a deep interest in genealogy, loved animals, and was devoted to his Senior Flock Group at Calvary Crossroads Church. His life reflected hard work, faith, and love for family.
John’s ashes will be inurned at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Crossroads Church, 1301 Maple St, Wenatchee, WA 98801 in his memory.
