In Loving Memory of James “Jim” Larson Tyler

Jim Tyler, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, at the age of 86. He leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and curiosity that touched the lives of all who knew him.

A brilliant mathematician, gifted writer, and lifelong learner, Jim possessed a mind as vast as it was sharp. He had an insatiable thirst for knowledge—not just about numbers and theories, but about people, their stories, their accomplishments, and the rich tapestry of human experience. He never forgot where someone came from or what made them unique, and he made everyone he met feel truly seen and remembered.

As a writer, Jim published under the pen name K.J. Wiley, crafting thoughtful works that reflected his intellect, empathy, and deep appreciation for the human spirit.

He was endlessly kind, quick-witted, and profoundly thoughtful. Whether he was listening to classical music, tending carefully to his beloved bonsai trees, or deep in a book about history, Jim carried with him a sense of wonder about the world and a deep appreciation for beauty in all its forms.

Above all, he was the best dad and grandpa anyone could ask for—a source of warmth, strength, and joy. He loved his family with his whole heart and delighted in the laughter of his grandchildren. He also had a special place in his heart for dogs, always ready with a treat and a smile for every furry friend he met on his daily walk.

He was deeply loved by so many and leaves behind a lasting imprint on our hearts and minds. His creativity, his intelligence, his kindness, and his curiosity will live on in all of us who had the honor to know him.

We will miss him dearly, but we carry his memory forward with love and gratitude.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Johnston & Williams of Cle Elum.
