With a legacy of love behind her, Eva Glidewell passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on May 21, 2026.
Eva was born on December 6, 1938 in Yakima to Dempsey and Katherine Lauderdale. She became the youngest child in the family and joined her sister Mary and brothers Dempsey, Bill and Charlie. She traveled far and wide before eventually resting in Ellensburg, where her smile was radiantly present and the Qwirkle games were abundant.
Eva’s brilliance was seamlessly woven into her daily life: she often gifted her loved ones hand-crafted quilts and one-of-a-kind clothing stitched with care. She shared no shortage of crafts, encouraging words, unparalleled cheesecake, or humorous moments for those in need.
The children of Eva- Dennis (Rosa) Taylor, Kathy (Jeff) Grossman, and Alena (David) Camarata - gave her endless care and loving memories. Eva’s grandchildren are James (Cindy) Taylor, Dennis H. (Jackie) Taylor, Jeremy (Sarah) Grossman, James (Missy) Grossman, Jesse (Haley) Grossman, Kristine (Preston) Comstock, Jared (Morgan) Grossman, Jordan Grossman, Joshua Grossman, Matthew Camarata, Katherine Camarata, and Michael Camarata, and she was survived by 26 great grandchildren all of whom felt her love through her joy and generosity.
Eva encouraged everybody to enjoy the simple pleasures of family while living their happiest life. She shared endless creativity and inspiration to everybody she met, and her beauty will shine on into eternity.
Eva’s funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 in the Evenson Memorial Chapel at Johnston & Williams in Ellensburg. Graveside committal will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 28 at West Hills Memorial Park in Yakima.
