Etta Ann Sinclair

Etta Ann Sinclair, 88, longtime Ellensburg resident and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2026, surrounded by the warmth of her cherished family. Her family will honor her live in a private service.

Etta was born on April 16, 1938, in Canton, Oklahoma, to Eldon and Anna (Sanderson) Edingfield, Etta lived a life filled with love, generosity, and unwavering dedication to family and community.

Etta was the definition of warmth and kindness. Those who knew her remember her as a beacon of love and a mother and friend to all who crossed her path. Her life was a testament to the beauty of simple pleasures — the joy of baking for loved ones, the satisfaction of creating quilts that wrapped her family in warmth, and the fulfillment of entertaining those she held dear.

On November 8, 1953, in Eagle City, Oklahoma, Etta married the love of her life, Basil Lavon Sinclair. Together, they built a marriage that spanned nearly 73 years, a partnership filled with devotion and shared dreams, always demonstrating the love and loyalty of a strong marriage and partnership that was a guiding source of inspiration to their family. Their union was blessed with five children: Debbie Brunner, Cindy (Rick) Williams, Terri (Jim) Rasmussen, Arthur (Rebecca Palo) Sinclair, and Andrew (Ricque) Sinclair. Etta’s legacy continues through her 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, each a testament to the enduring love she poured into her family.

Her love extended beyond her immediate family, as she was a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister, June Koehn, and her son-in-law Mike Brunner. She is survived by her sister Joyce (Jack) Kelly and brother Eldon "Butch" (Kathy) Edingfield.

Etta’s life was filled with creativity and care. She found immense joy in sewing and quilting, crafting beautiful pieces that are now treasured keepsakes for her family. Every holiday and gathering was a testament to her culinary skills and her passion for bringing people together.
