Debra “Debby” Jean Graber Klein was born October 1, 1958 at Caldwell, Idaho, the oldest of four children born to Ansil and Norma Graber. Debby passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026 of heart failure at the family’s farm home near Wilder, Idaho.
Growing up on the family homestead, playing and working in her family’s apple orchard gave Debby a love for gardening, both the vegetables that she harvested and canned for her family, and the flowers, especially the irises and hollyhocks, that will bloom for years to come.
Debby graduated from Homedale High School in 1975 and attended Northwest Nazarene College for one year before moving to Springfield, Missouri. where she worked for Duane Friend Ministries. It was there that she met Delbert Klein.
Debby and Delbert were married on February 25,1978 at Deer Flat Church in Caldwell, Idaho.
Newly married, they made their home near her husband’s family in St. Maries, Idaho. While living there, their three oldest children (Debby, Dana, and Derek) were born. In 1983 they moved to Meridian, and later to the family orchard homestead near Homedale.
Debby’s love for her life as a mother and homemaker, prompted the birth of three additional sons (Daren, Doug, and Davis) to the family. Her family complete, Debby concentrated on homeschooling her children, bible study, and church activities. She loved gardening, was involved in ladies groups, and the homeschool co-operative for many years.
Debby was an artist and expressed her talent in sewing, drawing, and painting; a natural talent passed along to her children.
Debby’s life, and her family, changed drastically in 2011 when she suffered a massive stroke that paralyzed her left side. She became dependent on the help of those around her for her day-to-day activities.
Despite her physical struggles, her faith in God remained strong. She enjoyed going to church when she was able, bible study outings, reading, and shopping with whomever was able to take her. She cherished the time she spent with her grown children. She especially enjoyed shopping with her daughters.
Debby Klein is survived by her husband at the family home near Homedale, her daughters, Debby (Devin) Erickson of Meridian and Danika “Dana” (Phillip) Stewart of Homedale, and sons Daren Klein of Homedale, Doug Klein and Davis Klein, both of Nampa; her grandchildren LaRae (Nathan) Murrell, Wyatt Stewart, and Wayne Stewart. She is also survived by her brother Dan Graber of Wilder, Idaho; Kathy Bruemmer of Loveland, Co., and Karen Kelly of Weiser, Id. She is also survived by several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her eldest son, Derek.
A memorial service for friends and family will be at 11 a.m. on April 18 at Deer Flat Church, 17703 Beet Rd., Caldwell, Idaho 83607. Lunch will follow the service.
