1947 Deanna 2025

Deanna Rae Kidder

July 5, 1947 — October 27, 2025

Deanna Kidder passed away peacefully in the home that her dad had built on Tuesday, October 27, 2025. At her request, her life will be honored privately by her family.

Deanna was born July, 5, 1947 in Ellensburg, Washington. She graduated from Ellensburg High School, and then went on to receive her bachelor's in education from Central Washington University.

Deanna started her own dancing and baton twirling school in Ellensburg called Deanna Kidder's School of Dancing. Her twirlers were called the Rodeoettes and performed in many parades throughout the state. When she became a mother, she decided to work from home and started an at-home daycare to be close to her family. She later went on to work at Child Advocacy Council, a nonprofit organization that supported abused and neglected children. In her later years, she worked closely with Mary Mathews as a 4-H demonstration judge.

She had many talents. She was a very talented vocalist and musician and could play a variety of different instruments, most notably the piano, upright bass, and percussion. She was also a very talented dancer of ballet, tap dancing and twirling the baton.

Deanna's favorite pastime was recalling the history of her Kittitas County pioneering roots, and was a wealth of history regarding this little burg called Ellensburg. Those who knew her, knew she loved to tell stories.

Deanna is survived by her daughter, Bece Kidder and husband, Brandon Alleman, and two grand doggies, Winnie and Aggie of Portland, OR; her son, Berb Kidder and wife, Pahna Kidder, and grandchildren, Warren, William, Cornel Kidder, Daniel, Danell, Daimon Sok of Everett, WA.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to her dear friends and neighbors who helped Deanna through her later years of life.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation at macular.org
