Cynthia "Cindy" Rock

Cynthia “Cindy” Alley Rock passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. A private person by nature, Cindy did not seek the spotlight, but she left a lasting impression through the way she loved big.

To her niece, Amelia, Cindy was far more than an aunt. She was one of Amelia’s favorite people, a role model, and someone she admired and looked up to from childhood through adolescence. Cindy’s strength, independence, and fierce spirit helped shape the woman Amelia became, and the bond they shared will always hold a special place in her heart.

Cindy also had a soft spot for cats, who seemed to understand exactly where to find the warmest corner of her heart. It was one more small, sweet reflection of her caring spirit and the comfort she brought to those around her.

Cindy also broke glass ceilings in her professional life. As a top-level manager at Boise Cascade, she led with both strength and heart. During her career, Cindy oversaw a 100,000-square-foot warehouse, multiple departments, supervisors, and more than 100 full-time and part-time employees. She moved easily between the warehouse floor and upper management, advocating for blue-collar workers while meeting the demands of a fast-paced male dominated environment.

Friends Sue O’Neill and Kellie Kovach, who both worked with Cindy at Boise Cascade and knew her for more than 40 years, remembered her as a courageous leader, mentor, and champion for her people. She worked hard, played hard, fought for fairness and safety, and led with optimism, humor, and heart. To them, Cindy was fun, loving, kind, and unforgettable—a woman whose smile, laugh, and encouragement changed lives.

Cindy is survived by her long-term and loving partner, Frank Pearson, who was a constant source of love and support in Cindy’s life, standing beside her through every challenge and celebration. Her niece, Amelia Maxwell (Warren); two great-nieces, Riley & Jocelyn; and dear friends who became family through decades of love, laughter, loyalty, and shared memories. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Phyllis Alley, and her sister, Linda Riley.

Cindy will be buried alongside her father at IOOF Cemetery in Ellensburg, Washington. Her legacy lives on in the people she loved, the barriers she broke, the lives she lifted, and the joy she brought into every room she entered. She was strong. She was loving. She was fiercely herself. And she will be deeply missed.
