The funeral service for Brennen Albert Milloy will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025 in the Evenson Memorial Chapel at Johnston & Williams in Ellensburg. Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, at the funeral home. Mr. Milloy, 74, a longtime Kittitas County resident and retired Cle Elum Chief of Police, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025, in Seattle following a two-week battle with unforeseen health conditions.
Brennen was born on August 23, 1950, in Kelso, Washington to Albert & Bell (Stubblefield) Milloy. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as an artillery gunner. Upon returning home, he continued to serve his country and community with distinction. He began his law enforcement career as an officer with the Kalama Police Department and eventually became Chief of Police in Cle Elum, serving in that role for 17 years. After retiring from law enforcement, Brennen worked as an integral member of the team at the PSE Wind Farm.
He was a devoted husband, a fiercely supportive father, and a fun, loving, sometimes delightfully ridiculous grandpa - affectionately known as “Paka” by his grandchildren. Brennen brought laughter everywhere he went with his witty jokes and silly songs. True to the man we all knew and loved, Brennen fought hard and strong for his life and held on until his devoted wife was by his side and his family had the chance to say their goodbyes.
He found joy in camping, riding his motorcycle, working in his garage and, above all else, spending time with his family. Even in his final days, his thoughts remained centered on those he loved most, once again showing the strength of his heart and character. Though we are devastated by his loss, we will smile every day remembering the wonderful moments and memories we shared with him. His love, humor, and spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
Brennen is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Patty Milloy; his only daughter, Holly (Padjen-Downey) Beard and son-in-law, Roy Beard; his four grandchildren - Amethyst Downey-Beard, Mylez Downey, Emma Beard, and Cody Beard. He also leaves behind his brother and lifetime sidekick, Gene Milloy, along with a multitude of extended loved ones, friends, coworkers, and community members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Bell Milloy, as well as many of his loving and faithful dogs.
Memorial contributions in Brennen’s honor are suggested to The Behind the Badge Foundation to help their mission of supporting the families of law enforcement officers in our state who have given the ultimate sacrifice to their communities.
The family extends our deepest gratitude to all who have loved Brennen and supported us during this time.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Johnston & Williams of Ellensburg.
