Lee Howe Obituary

Graveside services for Lee A. Howe was conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Laurel Hill Memorial Park in Cle Elum. Mr. Howe, a longtime resident of Easton, passed away at the Ruth's Home - Nova House Adult Family Home in Cle Elum on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the age of 83. Lee was born on February 15, 1936 in Grove, Oklahoma, the seventh of eight children born to Alfonso & Ollie Belle (Ballenger) Howe. The family moved to Harrisburg, Oregon when Lee was five years old and he grew up in the Harrisburg area. Lee worked most of his life as a long-haul truck driver and heavy equipment operator but his true passion was being a cowboy. He loved horses and spent many hours as a farrier and did some horse trading and custom farming on the side. Lee married Barbara Graham in 1991 and they have made their home in Easton since that time. He officially "retired" in 1998 but kept very busy, doing some fishing, playing in poker tournaments as well as spending time traveling with Barbara. He enjoyed spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren. Lee is survived by his wife, Barbara, at their home in Easton; his children Cari Lyne Gillam & husband Mike of Russellville, Kentucky; Bill Howe & wife Molly and Richard Howe, all of Lebanon, Oregon; step-children Cherie Graham of Easton; Casey Graham & wife Marie, Nathan Graham & wife Nancy and Amy Mills & husband Mark, all of Ellensburg; his sister Mary Henderson of Junction City, Oregon; 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-son Scott Graham and siblings Elsie, Orville, Roe, Thelma, Margaret Jane and Ella Jean. Memorial contributions in Lee's honor are suggested to Hospice Friends, 302 E. 2nd Avenue, Ellensburg. Cascade Funeral Home of Cle Elum has been entrusted with caring for Lee's family.
